Preferred Network vs Other Network: where you’re treated changes what you pay
The Preferred Network is a curated list of hospitals and clinics designated by Allianz where the cost of care is better controlled. Treating there gives you the lowest deductible on Plan Extra and Premier — from Rp6 million, versus Rp12 million or more at Other Network providers — and because controlled costs support flatter repricing, it helps keep your future premium adjustments more predictable.
The three provider categories
Every hospital or clinic falls into one of three categories under the policy, and the category determines how your claim is treated.
Designated by Allianz as providers where care costs are well controlled. Lowest deductible; cashless with your membership card.
Listed providers outside the preferred list. Covered, but with a higher deductible on Extra and Premier.
Providers excluded from both categories. Reimbursement claims for treatment there may be rejected — check with your advisor before non-emergency treatment.
How it changes your deductible
On Plan Extra and Premier, the deductible you pay is set by where you are treated: Option 1 is Rp6 million at Preferred Network hospitals, Rp12 million at Other Network hospitals in Asia, and — on Premier — Rp25 million in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. The category on the first date of service applies, and if care in one policy year spans categories, the highest applicable deductible governs.
Plan Standard has no deductible, so the category doesn’t change what you pay at claim time — but treatment must still be at a listed provider. Full option tables are in the deductible guide.
Why it keeps premiums more predictable
Premium repricing follows the cost of care: when a plan’s members are treated where costs are controlled, premium adjustments across renewals become flatter and more predictable. That is the product’s core design — the Preferred Network and the deductible are the two levers you control. Premiums still rise with age and can be repriced at renewal; the aim is predictability, not fixed premiums.
Questions about the network
Do I have to use the Preferred Network?
No — you can be treated at any listed provider. Using the Preferred Network simply means the lowest deductible applies and your plan’s costs stay better controlled. Only out-of-coverage providers risk a rejected claim.
Can the Preferred Network list change?
Yes — Allianz can update the list from time to time. Before planned treatment, confirm the hospital’s current category with your advisor; it takes one WhatsApp message.
Is cashless available at network providers?
Yes — your membership card is your identity for cashless treatment at network hospitals and clinics, for inpatient and outpatient care. The provider verifies your cover with Allianz before treating you.
