QUICK ANSWER

Allianz Preferred Medical and AlliSya Preferred Medical cover outpatient treatment for dengue fever and typhoid/paratyphoid fever — no hospitalisation required — up to Rp8 million per policy year on every plan. Care is eligible when it falls within 5 calendar days before to 10 calendar days after lab results meet the policy’s criteria, with a written diagnosis from a doctor.

How the cover works

Two of Indonesia’s most common illnesses are covered on an outpatient basis on all three plans — Standard, Extra and Premier — with the same Rp8 million limit per policy year. Most health insurance in Indonesia only responds to dengue or typhoid once you are admitted to hospital; this benefit pays for consultations, lab tests and medication while you recover at home.

Because it is an outpatient benefit, no deductible is charged on it. The diagnosis must be made in writing by a doctor, and the lab results must meet the criteria below.

The lab criteria

Eligibility is defined by standard Indonesian laboratory tests — the same ones your clinic already runs when dengue or typhoid is suspected.

DENGUE (DEMAM BERDARAH)

NS1 test positive or Dengue IgM positive, and a platelet count of 150,000 per µL of blood or lower.

TYPHOID / PARATYPHOID (DEMAM TIFOID)

Tubex test positive with a score of 6 or more, or Widal of 1/160 or more, or a positive Salmonella typhoidal culture.

The timing window

Care counts when it falls within a window around the qualifying lab result: up to 5 calendar days before the result — so the first consultation that led to the test is included — and up to 10 calendar days after it, covering follow-up visits and medication.

Questions about dengue & typhoid cover

Is there a waiting period?

The product’s standard 30-day waiting period for illnesses applies from the policy start. After that, the outpatient dengue and typhoid benefit is available in every policy year.

Does the limit differ by plan?

No — the benefit is Rp8 million per policy year on Standard, Extra and Premier alike. It covers dengue and typhoid/paratyphoid outpatient care combined within that limit.

What if I do need to be hospitalised?

Then your inpatient benefits respond instead, per your plan — Inner Limit amounts on Standard, or As Charged on Extra and Premier — including cashless direct billing at network hospitals. The Rp8 million benefit is specifically for outpatient care.
